NFUrally is all set for Jan 20

THE NFUs rally in central London will be held on Jan 20 at the Methodist Central Hall, opposite the Houses of Parliament, which has a seating capacity of 3000.

When NFU president Sir David Naish announced the rally (News, Jan 2), officials said they hoped more than 10,000 farmers and their supporters would be involved.

This week, no one would confirm if larger venues had been considered, or if the choice of Central Hall signalled a determined effort to limit the numbers descending on London. "It was decided that Central Hall was the best venue," was the only comment.
