Nick Brown launches British kitemark
AGRICULTURE Minister Nick Brown has announced a British food kitemark to tell consumers if a product really is British.
The minister said this would stop foreign goods which are processed in this country being passed off as British, reports the London Evening Standard.
Farmers have been calling for clear guidelines on labelling.
A survey by the National Farmers Union this week reported that while 75 per cent of people believe British food is best quality compared to competitors, 40 percent say it is not clearly labelled.
