NMRs free certificates

ALL animals recorded with NMR can now have pedigree performance certificates, listing performance of an animal, its ancestors and progeny, without the need or cost of pedigree registration.

The key advantages over breed society pedigree certificates are that they will be free and updated free of charge as the information changes, says NMR chief executive, Robin Turner.

"A pedigree certificate becomes outdated. With this scheme genetic merit of animals and their ancestors will be updated." They can also be provided for cross-bred stock. But the NMR certificates will not provide herdbook registration.

An animals first certificate, issued after birth, will include four generations of ancestry. This will routinely be updated at the end of each lactation when ancestors performance can also be updated and progeny added.

Certificates can be supplied free for existing animals on request, he says. These pedigree performance certificates meet international animal recording standards which are recognised throughout the world. &#42
