No more expensive flat battery shocks

AVOID the expense or embarrassment of a drained battery says Merlin Equipment, by fitting Battery Guard.

As its name suggests, Battery Guard monitors battery voltage when the engine is switched off to ensure enough power is retained in the battery to restart the vehicle. Should voltage drop below a preset level for more than 4min, the device will automatically disconnect the battery.

A dashboard mounted reset switch informs the driver what has occurred; resetting the switch enables the vehicle to be started.

Merlin says a 5A bypass circuit can be fitted to the £160 Battery Guard to create a permanent live for radio memories, and the device is suitable for both 12V and 24V systems (01491-824333).
