No zero risk, says M&S
THE public had been bombarded with ill-informed opinion on food issues and must be told there was no such thing as zero risk, said Sir Richard Greenbury, chairman and chief executive of Marks and Spencer.
Pledging support for British agriculture, he said that while food safety was paramount, knee-jerk reactions to health issues presented in a hysterical way were damaging to the industry.
Sir Greenbury called for more information to be provided to ensure a realistic picture of food safety was offered to consumers. *
