Non-farmers move in
NON-FARMER buyers won the day when a Buckinghamshire dairy farm was marketed on behalf of an Oxford College.
"We received a number of bids but the best were from non-farmers," says Harry St John, Cluttons Daniel Smith. "These purchasers now are an important part of the market which is likely to remain the case for some time because of the shortage of good-sized houses in rural locations".
Padbury Hill Farm, near Buckingham, included a four-bedroom farmhouse, ranges of modern and traditional farm buildings and 263 acres. It sold for in excess of £1m including the milk quota.
