NZINTERLUDEFORALASTAIR

A DESIRE to broaden his farming experience and see a new country prompted Alastair Strange to head to New Zealand last month.

But the 22-year-old Harper Adams graduate had a great going-away present just days before setting off in the form of a £250 cheque – his prize as winner of the Next Generation Survey draw.

Alastair plans to spend four months in New Zealand – but its on the familys West Sussex arable farm that his long-term future will be. "Its a way of life. I couldnt imagine myself doing anything else," he says.

Second name to be drawn, winning £150 was Judith Everatt of Goole, East Yorks and the £50 third prize goes to E Dart of Brechfa, Carmarthenshire.

the prize money.
