MARTIN Wolse, a director of the organic Elm Farm Research Centre, has been awarded the British Crop Protection Councils highest accolade, the BCPC medal.

"It came as a great surprise," said the former head of the Plant Breeding Institute, at the Brighton Pest and Disease Conference earlier this week.
