Peer seeks ban on Winnie-type protests


WINNIE the pigs protest at Parliament Square in Westminster may never be repeated, if one Peer has his way.

Earlier this year, the sow became a much-loved fixture as a mascot for pig farmers protesting about the state of their industry.

Now Lord Watson of Richmond has tabled a question asking the Royal Parks Agency to ensure the square does not become “the site for permanent displays”, reports the Daily Express.
