Pesticide application aid

THE need for accurate application of post-harvest pesticide to grain going into stores has become more important in recent years, says Perry of Oakley.

The company, in conjunction with Ariadne and Zeneca, has now developed a system which applies Actellic liquid pesticide to grain flowing in a conveyor within the grain store. Output is claimed to be up to 80t/hour and accuracy of application to within +/- 5%.

Perry points out that the main advantage of the system is that there is little wastage of chemical and that treated grain will not be rejected due to over-dosing.

Price of the complete application system is £8500. &#42
