Plenty of regulars at production sale

REGULAR buyers attended the fourth production sale from Messrs Dents Cumbria-based Bridge End Holstein herd, producing a top price of 3900gns.

Leading bid came for thefreshly-calved Bridge End Jogger Countess, bred out of the herds show cow Bridge End Centurion Countess. She was giving 30.6kg and was claimed by J K Smith and Sons, Crewe.

Messrs A R Booth, Richmond, North Yorks, took 15 lots up to 1600gns.

AVES: 10 cows £1380; 63 heifers £1539 and three maiden heifers £1697. (Harrison & Hetherington)
