Pollen link to heart and lung deaths
HEART and lung disease deaths soar on days when there are high pollen counts, claim researchers.
Pollen can trigger strong allergic reactions in airways which may be the final straw from people suffering from serious heart and lung disease, a study in The Lancet suggests.
Researchers from Utrecht University, Holland, found that numbers of people dying from heart disease, lung disease and pneumonia increased by 5% when the pollen count was highest.
