Pour-on still active even when it rains

CATTLE can now be protected against stomach and lungworm using a pour-on version of Cydectin, says manufacturer Cyanamid Animal Health.

Its pour-on will remain persistent and active against any parasite even when applied to wet animals, or when it rains immediately after treatment.

Applications only need be given at 8-10 week intervals, reducing handling stress and saving time, it claims.

Cost of protection with Cydectin pour-on, which will be available from late February, is expected to be 5p a day for a 150kg animal (01293-614141).
