Premium crops to help diversification

HEMP, lupins and soya beans are some of the crops on offer from a new company established to help arable farmers diversify their cropping.

Premium Crops, which also includes biomass, fibre flax and specialist oils in its portfolio, has been launched by former Robin Appel directors Nigel Bazeley and Edward Willmott.

It aims to help farmers develop specialist markets and profit from CAP reform, says Mr Bazeley. "While our products will not suit all situations, we are confident we can help improve the profitability of many arable and mixed farms."
