BIDDING reached 5200gns at the dispersal of Erroll and Margaret Scotts Escott Holstein Friesian herd from Ockbrook, Derby.

The call came for Escott Actress 41st, a third calver by Vanguard giving 55kg a day. Buyers were David and Matthew Hiles, owners of the Yockings Gate herd at Whitchurch, Shropshire.

AVERAGES:£1746 for 84 cows; £1225 for 15 served heifers; and £1049 for 34 maiden heifers. Two bulls averaged £2362. (Wright-Manley)
