Pro-hunt eight charged

THE EIGHT pro-hunt supporters who burst into the House of Commons in September have been charged with disorderly conduct, reports the Daily Telegraph. 

But all eight of the gang pleaded not guilty to breaching section 5 of the Public Order Act at a hearing on Mon (Dec 13). 

Outside the court Otis Ferry, one of the protestors involved, said the group had done nothing wrong and had merely been standing up for their rights.

“I have no regrets, the government has put forward a law that won‘t be enforced or policed.” 

The eight are required to attend a hearing at Bow Street magistrates court on Tue (Dec 21) to face charges, reports the paper.

If they are found guilty the protesters could face a six-month prison sentence or a £5000 fine.
