Quality pleasing
DORIAN JONES, of Dalgetys in Blandford, Dorset, says farmers are two weeks behind areas of Wiltshire. Early wheat crops have been cut.
“Some Soissons for the early milling market was exceptional, but its a bit early to say for the soft wheat.” Quality has been pleasing so far with Hagbergs between 280-300 and protein 12.5-13%.
Optic spring barley has been of high quality, with nitrogen between 1.6-1.7%.
