Quality Scots beef finds ready market

THE HERALD reports a ready market for quality beef from Scotland judging by sentiment at the carcase show held by Buccleuch Scotch Beef at Wishaw.

Buccleuch is a three-year-old co-operative marketing venture, which has some 50 producers supplying up to 100 cattle.

The champion carcase, weighing 730lb, sold for £1,569.
