Quota trading

SUCKLER cow producers may start trading their 1997 quotas from next Tuesday (June 17).

Notification of sales and leases may be made up to the date at which the ministry receives a suckler cow premium claim form. The claim period itself opens on July 1 and runs until Dec 6. Producers wishing to acquire quota should not submit a claim until after they have notified their transfer or lease.n
