Raw jute prices collapse in India and Bangladesh


ANGRY Indian and Bangladeshi farmers have threatened to commit much less
land to jute next season following bumper harvests which have seen jute prices collapse.


The Bangladeshi Government stopped price support several years ago because of
a shortage of funds, so it is unable to give any relief to the farmers.
