Ringlink Scotland formed from merger

THE North-east and the Mearns and Angus machinery rings have voted to merge their interests into Ringlink Scotland.

The 900-member farmers co-operative will stretch from Dundee to Forres. It will be based in Laurencekirk.

Graham Bruce, managing director, said the new body would provide economies of scale and provide a wider range of services.

One of its first tasks would be to set up a full-time pool of workers who would be on hand to cope with peak demand and at sowing and harvest periods, he said.
