Rooker marked out as Cunningham heir-apparent

THE Daily Telegraph suggests Prime Minister Tony Blair could save
money by sacking Jack Cunningham, agriculture minister, and asking Jeff Rooker,
food safety minister, to take on a dual role.

TheIn the Gallery column praises Rookers performance at the dispatch
box. However, it says his “ripe Brummie accent” does him few favours among
Blairites. It concludes that Cunningham will probably end up keeping his job.
