Rustling threat to hill farmers

HILL farmers are having their livelihood threatened by a spate of rustling in Cumbria, reports the Daily Express.

In the past six months, 1000 sheep have been taken from the fells. Thefts can go undetected for months until flocks are counted.

A National Farmers Union spokesman said stolen breeding ewes must be going to other flocks, suggesting other farmers were the culprits.
