Rwanda coffee production expected to climb

RWANDAN coffee production is expected to rise this year for the first time since the 1994 civil war, said industry officials.

They say favourable weather and new Government policies will help to increase production by about 3,000 tonnes to 17,500 tonnes.

New policies offering price incentives to farmers, coupled with new regional co-operatives are said to have boosted crop quantity and quality.
