Safe ATV fun for the young

YOUNG fun, but safe fun, is how Honda describes its new ATV, which it believes will find favour with a younger generation of ATV enthusiasts.

The TRX90 – a miniature machine by modern standards – is powered by an 86cc overhead cam, four-stroke engine driving through a four-speed transmission and automatic clutch.

A basic machine with no lights, front independent suspension is matched by a single-shock rear suspension unit.

Honda is clearly conscious of the safety implications for young ATV riders and specifies that no one under 12 years of age should be allowed on the machine.

The company also says it has fitted a recoil starter rather than electric, and an engine speed limiter can be set if required. As a final safety addition, Honda is providing a crash helmet and an ATV safety video for every buyer of the TRX90. Price is £1995. &#42

Hondas TRX90 ATV is aimed at the junior enthusiast, but with safety in mind.
