Sainsbury to ‘steam clean’ all beef
THE Sainsbury supermarket chain plans to “steam clean” all its beef, chicken and eggs in the latest move to reassure customers over food safety.
It has already installed pasteurisation equipment to blast raw meat free of most food-poisoning bugs at its major British beef supplier.
The company said the developments should give its customers added confidence in the safety of beef.
