Sclerotinia average
DESPITE recent wet weather, sclerotinia pressure in oilseed rape is only average at most, says ADAS Boxworths Peter Gladders.
Heavy rain has flooded the funguss fruiting bodies, preventing spore release. But if the weather dries, disease risk could rise.
"Where it has been bad in the past, spray at petal fall," he advises. "The rest should hold back for now." Early-drilled or Autocast crops from Yorks southwards are already at early petal fall. *
