Scotland’s auctioneers choose leader
THE HERALD profiles Willie Blair who, at the age of 63, is taking over the reins as executive secretary at the Institute of Auctioneers and Appraisers in Scotland.
Mr Blair has worked for William Bosomworth & Sons and John Swan & Son in Edinburgh.
He remains sanguine about the future of the mart system, believing that abolishing them would lead to lower welfare standards.
