Scots potato growers to see reports
SCOTTISH seed potato growers will be able to access details of their Scottish Executive Rural Affairs Department (Serad) growing inspection reports from next season.
This follows intervention by the British Potato Council (BPC).
Up to the present, growers have received only a pass or fail report. They will now be able to get detailed information about any problems. The information is already available south of the border.
The BPC reports that the acreage of seed in Scotland is up 1000ha (2470 acres) on last year from 14,000 to 15,000ha (37,064 acres).
