Scots protest at milk prices
SOME 200 Scottish dairy farmers took their complaint about milk prices direct to the headquarters of Scottish Milk in Paisley yesterday (Thursday).
They warned that a milk shortage could follow unless something is done to bolster milk prices, which have fallen by up to 30% in the past two years.
They fear that Milk Marque will negotiate a new selling round price that is even lower than the current price of 16ppl.
The demonstration coincided with a visit by rural affairs minister Ross Finnie to the Scottish Milks headquarters.
