Scott co-op shows off potato store

SCOTT Country Potato Growers has shown more than 100 farmers the fruits of its £750,000 investment.

The Kelso, Borders-based seed-potato growing co-op has expanded its state-of-the-art storage facilities from 2500 tonnes to 8500 tonnes. There is also improved grading and tuber-counting equipment.

The co-op is made up of seven farmers, with 202.3ha (500 acres) between them under cultivation.
