Scottish concern at mutton imports
THE Scottish branch of the National Sheep Association (NSA) has voiced concern about mutton imports at a time when thousands of old ewes are still on UK farms.
Rod McKenzie, vice-chairman of the NSA, said the situation was “absolutely crazy”.
He suspected mutton was being imported because there were very low charges for Continental slaughter.
