Scottish concern at mutton imports


THE Scottish branch of the National Sheep Association (NSA) has voiced concern about mutton imports at a time when thousands of old ewes are still on UK farms.

Rod McKenzie, vice-chairman of the NSA, said the situation was “absolutely crazy”.

He suspected mutton was being imported because there were very low charges for Continental slaughter.
