Set-aside reminder
AGRICULTURAL consultant Laurence Gould reminds growers that set-aside can be prepared for sowing cereals, oilseeds, and protein crops from July 15. Grass leys or forage crops may also be sown provided they are not harvested or grazed before Jan 15 2001. If green cover will not be destroyed by the Aug 31 end of the set-aside period it must be cut short by Aug 15. *
