Sheep breeder found dead in chainsaw accident
A highly regarded breeder of Texel sheep and father of three has been found dead, in what is believed to have been an accident with a chainsaw.
Aled Jones, understood to be aged in his mid-forties, was discovered on a farm near Llandyrnog, North Wales, on Wednesday (14 January).
A Farmers Union of Wales spokesperson said the death came as “a big shock to everyone”.
“It highlights the dangers that farmers face when carrying out their day-to-day jobs,” she added.
“Aled was highly regarded as a breeder of pedigree Texel sheep, and our thoughts go out to his wife and family.”
North Wales Police said in a statement that the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
It added officers had attended the scene, and both next of kin and the coroner had been informed.
