Sheep scab is biggest worry

SHEEP scab is the greatest worry for sheep producers, closely followed by foot-rot, according to a survey by the Moredun Foundation, Edinburgh.

The survey of 3000 farmers and vets found that 17% ranked scab as the main on-farm worry, with 16% rating foot-rot as a prime concern. Anthelmintic resistance was the main concern for 10% of farmers and vets, marginally ahead of enzootic abortion. Pasteurellois was ranked as the primary concern by 8% of respondents.n
