Silage liner keeps air out and acid in

CREATE an airtight seal to assist fermentation even in an earth banked silage pit, by using a welded Plygene silage pit liner, says supplier Sharmans.

The liner also helps prevent acid and effluent damaging the pit structure and up to three 1.37m (4ft 6.8in) widths of thick black plastic can be welded at the factory, saving overlapping in the pit, adds Sharmans.

Plygene pit liners carry a five-year fair wear guarantee and a standard 22.86m by 1.37m (76ft by 4ft 6.8in) roll costs £62.50; the factory welding is free (01298-812371).
