Simpler rules for animal movements
ANIMAL movement regulations, put in place following the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak last year, are to be simplified, DEFRA has announced.
A further announcement on a simplification to the rules governing pick ups and drop offs of animals will be made before July 31 a DEFRA spokesman said. Meanwhile licences for sheep dipping, tagging and scanning will no longer be required. The need for camelids to be accompanied by a movement licence has also been withdrawn. *
