Sims chief shuts down head office

THE chief executive of Sims Food, which supplies burgers to Burger King, has put himself out of work by deciding to close the companys head office.

Stephen Collier, was brought in to run the company in 1995 after it was nearly sunk by the BSE crisis.

Mr Collier said that the closure of the Milton Keynes office would save more than £500,000 a year.

He will look for a new job when he leaves Sims at the end of March.

The work done in Milton Keynes will be transferred to the factory in Hull, where Paul Harrison will become managing director.
