Small ATV punches well above weight
SMALL but with a powerful punch is how Kawasaki portrays its latest KLF250-A All Terrain Vehicle.
Powered by an air-cooled 230cc unit, the ATV is claimed to be agile for working in confined areas.
The quad is based on the existing 215cc KLF220-A model and has a 45í steering angle, allowing a turning radius of 2.7m.
Extra engine displacement, says Kawasaki, has been achieved by increasing the cylinders bore by 2mm. To improve cooling efficiency, the oil cooler is fitted with a fan, while a Mikuni VN 28SS carburettor is designed to deliver a smooth throttle response.
Transmission comprises a semi-automatic five-speed version, and mechanically operated front and rear drum brakes are supplied as standard.
Offering a 20kg front and 30kg rear rack carrying capacity, towing load is 204kg. List price for the KLF250-A is £2900. *
The KLF250-A is Kawasakis entry-level model in the "working" market.
