Smaller Fendts get Vario transmission

FENDTS Vario stepless transmission is gradually edging its way down to lower hp models in the German tractor makers line-up.

Four new Favorit models – the 115hp 711, 125hp 712, 140hp 714 and 160hp 716 – and three Farmer models – the 85hp 409, 100hp 410 and 110hp 411 – now have the transmission and trademark rounded front-end styling.

Favorit 700 series tractors have six-cylinder, four-valve engines with a displacement of 5.7 litres, turbos and intercooling and a high-pressure injection system. The Vario transmission unit is identical to that found on larger models and gives an infinitely variable, stepless speed range that runs from 20m/hr to 50kmh.

In the cab, Variotronic controls include a new joystick on the right-hand armrest, a colour display screen to the drivers right hand side and a new right-hand console giving control of things like 4WD, diff-lock and pto operation.

Farmer 400 series models have Deutz 3.8 litre, four-cylinder, four-valve engines. Vario transmission features are much the same as on larger models and there is a joystick control and black-and-white display screen to the drivers right- hand side. &#42
