SPRA-COUPE is now in the mainstream self propelled sprayer market with the introduction of the "Europeanised" 4440 model, says Chavtrac.
The firm continues to distribute the machine in the UK after Agcos takeover of manufacturers Melroe earlier this year.
Power still comes from a 110hp turbocharged Perkins engine, but this now drives through a new powershift transmission with cruise control, which allows the operator to preset the spraying speed and regain it after headland turns, using a speed return button. A direct drive overdrive gear gives a top road speed close to a quoted 25mph.
Increasing the sprayers tank capacity to 1818 litres (400gal) has upped its range to 8ha-30ha/fill (20-75 acres) at rates from 50-200 litres/ha (4-17gal/acre), says Chavtrac.
Stopping capability has also been improved through the fitting of power assisted wet disc brakes and standard specification includes Chavtracs latest boom suspension system and GPS-ready Raven sprayer controller. *
