Spy author halts farmer’s plans
SPY author David Cornwell, who writes as John le Carré, has won the first round of his fight to stop a neighbour building a farmhouse on the Cornish coast path.
Mr Cornwell had claimed that the house, to be built at Tregiffian, near St Buryan, would damage the coastline.
Penwith district council refused farmer Jimmy Thomas planning permission, but agreed to review a further application for a cattle barn on the clifftop site.
