Stakis son faces compulsory purchase threat
RENFREWSHIRE Council is threatening legal action against the son of hotel and casino magnate, Reo Stakis, over a listed building on his private property.
Andros Stakis, who owns Glentyan Estate, has failed to preserve Wardhouse Farm on the outskirts of Kilbarchan.
The farmhouse is a listed building which dates back to 1756. It has been allowed to fall into a “state of extreme dilapidation”, according to a report which will be discussed by councillors in Paisley today.
Mr Stakis could be subject to a compulsory purchase order if he fails to carry out the required work.
