Steel booms added to Commander Plus

HARDI is now offering its Commander Plus trailed sprayers with a new steel boom in widths from 24m to 36m.

The HPZ boom is the first of this width to be made of steel, says Hardi, and is the result of two years testing.

Seven widths are available – twofold 24m, 27m and 28m and threefold 30m versions – each of which can be specified with 2200 or 2800 litre capacity sprayers, while the larger 3200 and 4200 litre sprayers can also be fitted with three-fold 32m, 33m and 36m booms. Hardi makes the point that the booms can be used half folded, should it be required.

Mounted to the sprayer using the companys Paralift system – a system which employs a gas damper and coil spring suspension – the booms can be hydraulically slanted or individually tilted. Break-back protection comes in the form of a spring-loaded system and, for added safety, a shear pin fitted in the hinge point between the intermediate and outer boom sections.

For 2002, Hardi has also added a number of new features to the Commander Plus sprayer. The larger models can now be specified with hydraulic suspension with gas damping, and sprayers equipped with LPZ, HPZ, GVA and HAZ booms can now be fitted with Hardis Electronic Valve Control (EVC) circulation system which is said to provide speedy boom shut-off and pressure equalisation.

Price of the Hardi Commander Plus sprayer with HPZ booms starts at £34,000 for a 2200-litre sprayer with 24m booms, rising to £38,575 for a 4200-litre with 36m booms. &#42
