Support for beef
TREMENDOUS support for a special sale of pedigree beef females produced a sharp trade at Porta-down, with a top call of 3000gns.
Ploughfield Gigi, a Maerdy Empereur daughter from their Moyallen herd, has already produced a show-winning son and was sold with a bull calf at foot by popular sire Simpsons Gregg. George Allen, Portadown, bought the combination from local vendors Mr and Mrs Derek Veitch.
A draft of maiden heifers from Brian Mullans Tyberan herd peaked at 1750gns, given by Sandra Hunter for one by Gretnahouse Harlequin. (Automart.) *
