Tattenhall Charolais herd dispersed

ERNIE Dodds Tattenhall Charolais herd, renowned for producing some of the breeds most illustrious sires including the great Tattenhall Impeccable, was dispersed at Lichfield last weekend.

Top price was 2900gns for the 1992-bred show cow Tattenhall Hollande. A double grand-daughter of Impeccable, she was served to Maerdy Gabriel in October and joins Robert Hutchisons herd at Newark.

Sue Vale, Kidderminster, gave 2800gns for the maiden heifer Tattenhall Numide, sired by Tattenhall Jupiter.

Dyfed breeders J and M Howells gave 2300gns for the maiden heifer Tattenhall Nemee, a Gabriel daughter.

Suffolk breeders Albert Clements and Partners paid 2500gns for an eight-year-old cow Shotley Freesia from the dispersal of Mrs Deane Cookes Alexis herd from Pencader, Dyfed. She had a November-born bull calf at foot by Genus Houblon. (United Auctions with Wintertons).
