Top Holsteins compete with best in the world

A RECORD 120 plus exhibitors entered 450 dairy cattle at the 18th National Holstein Show last week.

US judge Gregg Hardy said the cows forward could compete in any show in the world and that importing and breeding selection was paying off in the UK. All top three cows were capable of being the champion, he added.

But in the end he chose Strutt and Parker Farms Trent Valley Lanny as supreme champion because her strength, deep rib and wide chest gave her the capacity to eat forage and produce milk.

Strutt & Parker Farms Trent Valley Lanny took supreme championship at last weeks Holstein Show.Reserve went to R J & D Loftuss mature cow.
