Top seed venture

TWO of the UKs top agribusinesses have joined forces to supply arable seed to growers in the south of England, the West Country and the south Midlands.

Under a joint venture between SCATS and United Agri Products the new company, SCATS AgriSeeds, will operate from Larkwhistle, Hants. The deal also sees UAP acquire SCATS agrochemical supply business.

UAP, which is owned by multinational trader Conagra, already operates two crop protection businesses – Independent Agriculture and Wilmott Pertwee.
