Trade up by 20%

SOUTHERN co-operative MSF recorded a record grain trade last year, and aims to increase it by a further 20% this season.

It sold more than 200,000t of grain in the year ending Nov 1997. Supply contracts with several flour millers, exporters and feed compounders have helped, says MSF.

Its arable division was recently relaunched as MSF Arable. The arm is expected to increase crop input and trading turnover by 5.5% to £34.5m in its first year.
