Transceiver steps into the outdoors

LATEST transceiver from Icom (UK) – the IC-F22SR – is said to have been designed to meet the demands of the licence-free PMR 446 service and aimed at outdoor users who require a robust product.

Simplicity, says the company, is the key behind the transceivers design which incorporates only three controls: transmit button, volume control and channel selector. The radio delivers all eight of the new UHF channels with channel search performed automatically to find one which is available.

Other features include a group call function to allow specific groups to use the equipment without interference from each other, and a ringer function to let the user know that a recipient has received a call.

A rechargeable battery, belt clip and two-year warranty is included in the IC-F22SRs specification. (01227-741741)
